Recently, one of my designs was picked as a top 5 finalist for the DEXTER Fan Art Contest held by Showtime Networks..After losing an online poll by less than a 3% margin, I didn’t place first but a close runner up. The shirt design is now being sold at the Showtime store. Please check it out and pick one up if you are a big Dexter fan. The tshirts will be limited edition and sold exclusively through Showtime. Go to the Showtime store now to check out the shirt and the design….
Just a quick update to say that the voting for Showtime’s Dexter Tshirt design is over…it looks like I placed 2nd, just short by 3% —Looks like I won’t get Comic-Con, but it was a great run and my design will still be sold at the Showtime Online Store along with being rewarded a prize pack, it was an amazing opportunity, and excellent for my resume….I will be posting links to the Store and images when i get more word on everything…
I recently got word that one of my designs was selected as a TOP 5 Finalist for Showtime’s Dexter T-Shirt Contest. First Place will be featured at Comic-Con 2010 —and I believe all finalist’s art will be sold in the Showtime store. Not only am I a huge fan of the show, but as a graphic designer, this is super exciting for me! Voting is happening now.
The one that was chosen out of the 6 or so I submitted was the “Miami Skyline Bloodslide” TOP ROW/FAR RIGHT
Well I have added pretty much the finishing touches on the all new Pet Portfolio site. New prices and Size options to get that canvas or poster print you have been wanting. Once again I have turned to Media Lab and their Sitegrinder Plug-In to help me build this new page. This is the 5th site built with Sitegrinder and I can’t tell you how much it has helped me get my website to look exactly how I want it to look without having to know much coding at all.
These Pet Portraits make excellent gifts for any pet lover or animal owner and best of all, they are fully customizable to your liking.
Each and every print is unique and printed on highest quality poster paper or on a beautiful stretched canvas. Check out the new website at http://www.thepetportfolio.com and send the link to everybody you know that has a pet.
I am in the process of rebuilding my other site, The Pet Portfolio. I have been working hard on it for the last few days and really like the way its starting to come out. I have uploaded the site to get it online, but there are still quite a few things its lacking. I decided to go with a grunge and urban style for this site and keep true to my style of design. Let me know any comments or constructive criticism you may have.
For the ones that haven’t been to The Pet Portfolio, this is a 2nd site of mine where I do Digital Art Pet Portraits. Printed on high quality canvas or posters. Immortalize your favorite pet in a one of kind, unique pet portrait.
I have been working on a new business card design for the last week and decided on this one. Thought I would go with the rough grunge look for this Summer 09 design. In my design research and search for inspiration, I found so many awesome blogs and web pages with both creative and inspiring business card designs and thought I would share some… CreativeBits and Inspiredology are not only great blogs for designers, but both have some very unique card designs. I also found CardObserver, a must see site for any designer or anybody looking for cool card inspiration and design.
Thanks to Uprintingfor all the help, printing and great deals on the products.
Hello fellow designers and tutorial hunters! I have recently had a couple questions about adding a JAlbum flash gallery to a Sitegrinder built site. I felt compelled to write a tutorial on how I added my JAlbum galleries to my site to incorporate a coordinated and seamless flash gallery.
First things first… You must have JAlbum and Sitegrinder (either Basic or Pro will work)
This is a not a Sitegrinder tutorial. If you want to learn how to use Sitegrinder, please visit MediaLab for more tutorials on their product. That being said, I assume you know how to make buttons in Sitegrinder. A button is an image that is clickable and will lead you to a new page, either within your site or an external website.
There Back- Finally ! After a long band “break”, marriages, babies and solo albums, No Doubt is back and sound better than ever. I just got back from seeing No Doubt in Houston,TX yesterday. It was a great show and was completely sold out at The Woodlands. I hope this tour gives them inspiration to get back in the studio and record a new album. I have been a No Doubt fan for over 15 years now and have seen them somewhere between 20-25 times now. I took a few pictures and videos the other night from the lawn section, not the greatest, but oh well.
I have just put this link to my blog on my site and I am guessing if you are reading this, you found that link. In the last few days, I have had quite a few visitors to my site thanks to the Media Lab website. Media Lab has put a link to my site on their page of Sitegrinder built sites.
If you haven’t heard of Sitegrinder, check it out. If you are a designer and don’t have a whole lot of time to learn coding and web design layout CSS, Sitegrinder may be your best friend. Design your site in Photoshop, exactly how you want it to look, add some Sitegrinder hints and in 5 minutes, you have a fully built website with all the proper files. This isn’t a plug for Media Lab and Sitegrinder, but people have contacted me and asked about Sitegrinder, and honestly, as a designer and not a web site coder, this plugin has saved me not only money, but time and mental exhaustion too.
One nice, sunny, summer day here in Austin, I was sitting on a patio, drinking margaritas and watching all the dogs pass me by. Over and over, I was seeing people jogging with their pets, driving with their pets, eating on patios with their pets and I realized at that point, how much these animals play a role in the everyday life of their owners. I, myself, have a cat and a dog and have always treated them like members of the family.
As a graphic designer with an entrepreneurial spirit, I figured I would try to design a site dedicated to pet owners and a place where they can immortalize their pets with a cool/funky/retro/urban style art print on canvas or posters.
I started The Pet Portfolio and have had quite a bit of success with it since it first started up. I know there are alot of pet portrait sites on the net, but everybody’s style is so different, it just depends on the type of art you are looking for.
